5 Reasons to Schedule Your Spring Landscape Cleanup Now (And Save Up To 15%)

Winter hasn’t even arrived yet, and I’m already talking about spring? As a landscape professional serving Northern Kentucky for nearly a decade, I’ve learned that the most successful landscapes—and the happiest homeowners—are the ones who plan ahead.
If you’re a homeowner in Florence, Union, Burlington, Walton, or Richwood, Kentucky here’s why scheduling your spring landscape cleanup now makes sense—and how you can save significantly by booking early.
1. You’ll Actually Get Your Preferred Week (And Save 5%)
By late February, my calendar starts filling fast. Homeowners who wait until the first warm weekend in March to call often find themselves pushed into late April or even mid May—after their neighbors’ yards already look pristine and before their Easter gathering or graduation party.
Here’s something new for 2026: Priority Scheduling Weeks.
When you book now and choose one of my designated priority weeks each month, you save 5% on your total service. This helps me plan efficient routes and manage my schedule, and it gives you guaranteed service during a specific week without the stress of hoping for availability.
Spring weather in Kentucky means rain delays and schedule adjustments—that’s reality. But when you’re on a priority week, you’re first in line when conditions allow. You get your preferred timeframe AND a discount.
2. Book Early and Save 10% (Or Stack Discounts for 15% Total)
Every quote I provide is valid for 10 days from the date issued. Approve your quote before it expires, and you automatically save 10% on your total service.
That’s 10% off everything: cleanup labor, pruning, edging, mulch installation—the complete package.
And here’s where it gets even better: combine the 10% pre-booking discount with the 5% priority scheduling discount, and you save 15% total. On a typical $600 spring cleanup and mulch installation, that’s $90 in your pocket.
Early commitment helps me plan materials, schedule labor time, and organize my spring efficiently. In return, you get priority service and real savings.
3. New Clients: Get Free Year-Round Weed Control (A $190 Value)
If you’re a new client booking spring cleanup AND mulch installation, I’m including something that will transform your landscape season: free pre-emergent weed control applications in both March and September.
Let me explain why this matters.
Pre-emergent weed control isn’t glamorous, but it’s the difference between a low-maintenance landscape and spending every weekend pulling weeds. Applied at the right time—before soil temperatures trigger germination—it stops weeds before they start.
Two applications per year (spring and fall) provide six months of protection each time. That’s 12 months of professional weed control preventing crabgrass, spurge, chickweed, and dozens of other common landscape weeds.
Normally, each application is $95. By booking your complete spring service now, you get both applications free—a $190 value that pays for itself in saved time and frustration all season long.
There’s no minimum mulch requirement. Whether you’re refreshing three beds or twelve, the offer applies. This is exclusively for new clients as a thank-you for choosing WhiteHouse Landscapes LLC.
4. I Can Assess While Issues Are Fresh in Your Mind
Right now, you remember the problems from this past growing season. The shrub that got too big and blocked the window. The bed that never looked quite right. The drainage issue after heavy rains. The weeds that took over in July despite your best efforts.
During your free 30-minute landscape evaluation, we can discuss these specific issues while they’re fresh. By spring, you’ll have forgotten half of them. Planning now means we address the real problems, not just the obvious debris.
As an ISA Certified Arborist since 2013 and Master Gardener since 2011, I’m not just clearing leaves—I’m evaluating plant health, identifying potential damage early, and recommending solutions that prevent bigger problems down the road.
5. Winter Damage Gets Immediate Attention
Ice storms, heavy snow, and freeze-thaw cycles take their toll on Northern Kentucky landscapes. Broken branches, heaved plants, and winter burn on evergreens often go unnoticed until spring growth reveals the damage.
When you’re already on my schedule, we’re out there as soon as conditions allow. Early intervention means healthier plants, better recovery, and a landscape that bounces back faster. Waiting until May means damaged plants struggled for months while you were trying to find availability.
Early detection saves money. A broken branch caught in April gets pruned correctly. The same branch ignored until June leads to disease, decline, and potentially losing the entire plant.
What Spring Cleanup Actually Includes
Here’s what a comprehensive WhiteHouse Landscapes LLC spring cleanup covers:
Landscape Bed Cleanup: Complete removal of winter debris, fallen leaves, broken branches, and dead plant material from all landscape beds.
Ornamental Shrub Pruning: Structural pruning for plant health, removing dead or damaged wood, shaping for appearance, and maintaining proper size. This isn’t just cosmetic—proper pruning promotes flowering, prevents disease, and extends plant life.
Landscape Bed Edging: Clean, defined edges between beds and lawn areas. This creates visual appeal and, on sloped areas, helps retain mulch where it belongs.
Pre-Emergent Weed Control: Application of professional-grade pre-emergent in March prevents weed seeds from germinating in the first place. This is far more effective (and less work) than pulling weeds all summer. (Free for new clients booking complete spring service—both March and September applications included.)
Mulch Installation: Fresh mulch conserves moisture, suppresses weeds, regulates soil temperature, and gives beds that finished, professional appearance. We typically recommend 1-3 inches of quality shredded hardwood mulch.
Who Benefits Most From Professional Spring Cleanup?
Over the years, I’ve found that certain homeowners consistently appreciate professional landscape care:
Busy professionals and families who simply don’t have time on their weekends to spend hours on yard work—they’d rather be at their kids’ games or enjoying their outdoor space, not maintaining it.
Homeowners with physical limitations who want to maintain their property but can’t handle the physical demands of bending, lifting, hauling debris, and hours on their knees in landscape beds.
Homeowners preparing to sell who know that curb appeal directly impacts showing success and sale price—professional maintenance signals a well-cared-for property to potential buyers.
If any of these describe your situation, you’re exactly who I work with every season.
New for 2026: Seniors “Helping Hands” Landscape Services
I’m excited to announce a new program launching in 2026 specifically designed for Northern Kentucky seniors (age 62+) who want to maintain their homes and landscapes but need help with the labor and possibly flexible payment options for those on a fixed budget.
For qualifying landscape services of $1,200 or more, eligible seniors can spread payments over 12 months with a valid credit or bank card on file. This makes larger projects—landscape renovations, seasonal maintenance programs, accessibility improvements—manageable on fixed incomes.
Many of my senior clients have lived in their homes for decades and take tremendous pride in their property. This program ensures that budget constraints don’t force difficult choices between home maintenance and other necessities.
I’ll be sharing complete details about Seniors Helping Hands in December, including service options, payment structures, and how to qualify. If you or a family member might benefit from this program, watch for the full announcement.
How Pricing Works
My service rate is per hour plus materials for landscape cleanup and maintenance work. Most properties require 1 to 2.5 hours for comprehensive spring cleanup, putting typical projects in the $150-$400 range before mulch.
Mulch installation is quoted separately (labor + materials). As a general guideline, one cubic yard of mulch takes approximately one hour to properly install (spreading, shaping, and cleanup).
Pre-emergent weed control applications are from $95 per visit (free for new clients booking complete spring service).
Every quote is detailed, transparent, and includes a clear scope of work so you know exactly what you’re getting. No surprises, no hidden charges.
Remember: Approve your quote within 10 days and save 10%. Choose a priority scheduling week and save an additional 5%. That’s up to 15% off your total investment.
A Word About Pre-Emergent Timing
If there’s one service that’s truly time-sensitive, it’s pre-emergent weed control. This material must be applied before soil temperatures trigger weed seed germination—typically by March in our area.
Apply too late, and you’ve missed the window. Weeds germinate, and you spend the season fighting them with post-emergent treatments that are more expensive, less effective, and frankly, never-ending.
Booking now ensures you’re on the schedule for proper timing. This alone can transform your landscape season from constant battle to low-maintenance enjoyment.
For new clients taking advantage of the free weed control offer, you’re getting this critical service at exactly the right time—both in spring and again in fall—without spending a dime beyond your cleanup and mulch service.
Why WhiteHouse Landscapes LLC?
Since 2016, I’ve been serving Northern Kentucky homeowners with professional landscape services backed by real credentials: ISA Certified Arborist KY-0847A since 2013, Master Gardener since 2011, and 15+ years in professional horticulture.
I’m a professional who understands plant health, proper techniques, and long-term landscape success. When I prune your shrubs, I’m considering plant biology, growth patterns, and flowering timing—not just making them look neat. When I recommend a service, it’s because your landscape actually needs it, not because I’m upselling.
I’m local. I live and work in this community. Your neighbor’s yard might be one I maintain. I see my work every day, and my reputation depends on quality results.
